Advanced Training/Support

This training and support is customised to the needs of individual clients and takes place at a client’s institution. It has been developed to provide support and training that fills a gap between generic courses and full independence. It can also be used to help staff and institutions extend their use of variants of the STAGE and ANARRES models. It is limited to using variants of the STAGE and ANARRES families. It is assumed that clients already use models from the STAGE and ANARRES families and/or is a graduate of a training programme provided by CGEMOD.

The development of new variants designed to meet the specific needs of institutions is treated as consultancy.

The precise arrangements are case specific, so the following options are only indicative.

Option 1: Developing Simulation and Interpretation Skills

This support would typically be designed to enhance the skills of a client’s staff already working with a variant of STAGE or ANARRES. Before onsite support various activities would have been completed, e.g., database, background study, description of policy scenario, etc. Thereafter ‘hands on’ support is provided at the client’s institution for one week (Mon-Fri/Sun-Thurs) .

Cost range: c£4,000 plus travel and accommodation (subject to negotiation).

Option 2: Using a Variant of STAGE/ANARRES

This support would typically be designed to help client’s staff transition to using a different/new variant of STAGE or ANARRES, and may involve some customisation of the variant to the client’s specific needs. Before onsite support various activities would have been completed, e.g., database, background study, description of policy scenario, etc. Thereafter ‘hands on’ support is provided at the client’s institution for one week (Mon-Fri/Sun-Thurs) .

Cost range: c£5,000 plus travel and accommodation (subject to negotiation).

Option 3: Support for Confidential Policy Analyses

This support would typically be provided to client’s who needed to conduct confidential policy analyses for which additional support with designing simulations and/or interpreting results and/or customisation of a model variant is wanted. In these cases the specifics of support offered will be case specific.

Cost range: c£5,000 per week plus travel, accommodation and other expenses (subject to negotiation).
